Welcome to Issue 6

Welcome back to Eat, Sleep, Fish we hope you enjoy this latest issue as much as the last one.

There is a great mix of articles we have brought to you this month and thanks again from all of us for the articles that you have sent us. We love reading them when they come in and really think this the core of what ESF is all about - fly fishing and sharing the great times we have out fishing.

We ( I say we, but the brains behind this task is Jim)  have worked on getting a subscription section together so that it is easy to sign up, be spam free and will ensure ESF lands in your inbox at time of issue so make sure you sign up!

Thank you so much for helping spread the word about ESF. I always hoped the news of the ezine would spread by word of mouth and we have all be astounded by how well this has worked and month on month the readership has continued to grow way beyond what I had ever dreamed of. Thank you!

Working as a guide, I see a lot of fly anglers on a daily basis. I saw a group of friends recently who had headed down my way to try the streams of Devon. It turned out that they go on a lot of trips together and have travelled far and wide in search of fishing adventures. One of their group was sadly not able to fish any more due to a tragic accident that has left him in a wheelchair but that didn't mean he wasn't part of the "team" and he has made the trips with the rest of the guys. When I spoke to them all each morning before work he was very much part of it all.

It struck me that fly fishing had brought these guys together as they were different ages and from different parts of the country. The fishing they had shared had formed a strong bond between them that wasn't going to be broken anytime soon, despite any adversity that was going to be thrown at them.

I know I love to fish with my friends, rather than alone, and when I do it isn't about who had the most, or the biggest fish despite the gentle ribbing at the end of the day. It is about the great company you have when fishing with friends.

I have a friend who doesn't live so close anymore who I used to call and tell him the fishing was hot and we'd find some time to get out together. Now he lives so far away I don't get to do that so often but he called the other day and is in the UK later this year so we are planning a road trip togther. I can't tell you how much I am looking forward to it.

So, if you have a fishing buddy you haven't seen in a while why not give them a call and spend some time on the water with them?

Enjoy Issue 6.
