New Zealand, South Africa, Mozambique, Zambia, Swaziland, Malawi, Slovenia, Norway and then of course all around the the UK including salmon fishing in Scotland, night-fishing for sea trout in Wales, wild brown trout in Ireland, and many of the English rivers. I love fly-fishing, but I'm not a fly-fishing purist. To me, the excitement of fishing is about context...the location, the elusiveness of the species, the build-up...yes, fly-fishing is my main love, but I could also get seriously excited about surface plugging for sea bass or drifting a chicken heart on a freeline treble for big tigerfish! If I have a rod in my hand and I'm on the move, I'm happy. I go on a big trip every year with two mates, but aside from that, I organise as many small trips as possible, and I'm always down in Hampshire and Dorset in the season, because I love fishing the chalkstreams
