As fishing guides and instructors we get to try lots of different gear on a day to day basis, some good and some not so. Below is some of this 'good stuff' we put our hands in our pockets for and use on a regular basis. If you have some 'good stuff' you'd like to share please let us know and we'll put it in future issues.
Pete & Jim like Beechfield Caps (B15c)
We're loving these caps cos they've got the ESF logo on them... call us biased, surely not.
Pete likes Fish On CDC
High quality CDC that I love on my dries. I also like to use it on my nymphs for that extra movement.

Pete likes Esoteric Tackle Tippet Ring
Perfect for attaching your tippet and/or your droppers. They come looped to a safety pin for security but best tied on at home especially on cold days! I find dropper twist on my nymph rigs is minimal when using the rings.

Pete likes Funky Fly Tying Camo Anodised Tungsten Beads
These are heavy beads. 98% tungsten means they sink like a stone and the camo affect works superbly.

Jim likes the Life Venture Umbrella
An umbrella for fishing I hear you shriek? - Yes
Bulky super techno jackets and those that demand circa £300 plus to own that even then are questionable as to their waterproof properties.
I prefer the cheaper yet guaranteed to keep you dry option. Knowing the weather as I do in the UK why wouldn't I?
Ultra light and at only 175cm long it'll fit into any jacket, vest or back pack. I'll also guarantee it'll keep you dryer than any jacket you care to own now or in the future.
Mine came from Go Outdoors
