As fishing guides and instructors we get to try lots of different gear on a day to day basis, some good and some not so. Below is some of this 'good stuff' we put our hands in our pockets for and use on a regular basis. If you have some 'good stuff' you'd like to share please let us know and we'll put it in future issues.
Pete likes Peanut M&M's (Large Pack)
Essential fishing fodder. Worth eating a large handful when the fishing is quiet as it does seem to bring the fish on. Has worked best with river trout and bass.
Jim likes LOCHSA floatant
This is excellent and my go-to floatant should I on the odd occasion need to treat dry flies prior to fishing. Works well on pretty much every fly I've tried, including CDC.
If I've one criticism however it's the black bottle making it impossible to see the contents... because of which putting but the merest of required dabs on your finger is nigh on impossible without depositing enough to coat a dozen flies. Tut!

Jim likes the Olympus TG-1 ( Lots & lots & lots)
A new addition amongst others to my ever growing collection of headcams, bridge and compact cameras. In addition to the super tough qualities as is their trademark, they've applied some superb techno type stuff that aids shooting in low light. With full 1080P video recording and the ability to add lenses and filters. This stunner sets the bench mark. (Circa £300)
