Welcome to Issue 17

I’m writing this before heading out fishing. We’ll be on a tiny stream fishing light lines and tiny dry flies. I’m excited. Very excited. The weather, at last, has turned for the better. The original plan was to meet at 10am but I’ve been up since 5.30am and want to go. I made what I thought was a call to my buddy at a reasonable hour of 7.45am to see if we can shift things forward and am just waiting for a reply.

I still get stupidly excited ahead of going fishing when I have good company, something to eat, The Clash in the CD player and the hope of few rising fish. It is one of the reasons we first put ESF together so that we can all share similar feelings about why we love this so much.

When it comes to this ezine we wanted to take the chance, after over a year now, to let you know that we have no master plans for Eat, Sleep, Fish. We’re not looking to, or ever will, make a penny from it. We don’t want to sell ad space either, just stay totally independent and simply be a place where we can share our fishing adventures with like-minded folk. That is it, honest!

I hope this is one of the reasons we have been able to get such great writers to give us some of their time for free and write a few words for us. We can’t tell you how much we appreciate it. Also it has been amazing to see so many of you giving writing a go and telling us all what you have been doing on the water. We know it has been popular with readers, keep them coming.

This month we are extremely proud to let you know that we have some more regular writers joining the roster of Jim, Ian, Warren, Graham, Peter, Keith, Allan, Stan and Jeroen.

They are Chadd Vanzanten from the US who is a phenomenal wordsmith and awesome fisherman. He is also a great guy too. Welcome Chad!

James Beeson is from down here in Devon and lives and breathes fishing. I had the pleasure of fishing with him a few weeks back and he is a skilled writer, angler and great company to be around. Welcome James!

So here is Issue 17. We hope you enjoy it
